Fun in Physical Education Class
Physical education is often one of those classes which most students would rather skip than attend. So, a PE teacher needs to make sure that he would keep his classes fun and interesting in order to encourage students to actively participate in the different sports and games.
One thing that you can do is to give out small trophies and other tokens of achievement to recognise the hard work of students who have consistently performed well throughout the school year. You should also single out those students who demonstrate great skill and sportsmanship during the different games. Furthermore, if the entire class behaves well and does their part for a particular activity, reward everyone by letting them play their favourite sports. Additionally, make it a point to research new and interesting games which the students have likely never heard of so that you can keep the class always lively with fun activities. At the end of the term, come up with several special awards that recognise the various achievements of students. You can, for instance, print out certificates and give them to those students that exhibit specific skills such as leadership, punctuality, etc.
However, the most important thing that you must do in your physical education classes is to teach your students the value of being active in sports. Help them to appreciate how sports would not just keep their bodies in good physical condition but it can also teach them valuable life lessons which can be of use later on in their adult years.
