Inglish in ChesterEnglish in Chester was established in 1976. It is located in the centre of the historic city of Chester in North West England. 

THE SCHOOL

The school occupies 3 houses, built in the 1870’s, in a quiet square near the city centre, offering a spacious and pleasant studying environment. Each building has a common room, a language laboratory and computer facilities. There is a good Self Access Centre and excellent resources for teachers.

THE CITY

Chester is a walled Roman city (population 120,000) and is an important tourist centre attracting 5 million visitors a year. It is an excellent centre for visitors to Britain who want to discover a very special English city that is historic, beautiful and full of life. 

THE SOCIAL PROGRAMME

We offer an optional excursion programme with reasonably priced events. There are full-day excursions on Saturdays (e.g. York, the Lake District, Liverpool, North Wales) with afternoon/evening events at least once a week.

THE ACCOMMODATION

THE COURSE S

General English courses

Our General English courses aim to develop the ability to communicate effectively. All aspects of language are covered with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The carefully structured and flexible courses give students an opportunity to select afternoon options to meet their specific needs. It is possible to combine a General English course with:
• Preparation for further study in the UK
• IELTS and other exam preparation
• Additional individual lessons

Cambridge Examination courses

On our Cambridge Examination courses students study together in special-focus groups. They follow intensive courses to prepare them for success in the examinations. Students may follow a core programme of language development, at an appropriate language level, in the mornings and have afternoon lessons specialising in examination practice.

Intensive English Language courses for Business & Professional People

Our intensive courses are specifically designed for mature, motivated people who want to develop their capacity to use English in both the workplace and in social contexts. Very small classes and constant attention ensure maximum progress. Classes take place in the School’s comfortable and well-equipped Language Training Centre.

2 weeks (occasional 4-week courses)

50+ courses

Improve your English, meet people and discover one of the nicest parts of Britain on our 50+ courses. Our course are planned to provide a balance between the academic and social needs of the 50+ age group and the students enjoy the “English” atmosphere of Chester and the special care and attention they receive at the school.
The 2-week courses can be followed by optional “Discover Britain” weeks or “Mini Tours”.
