In May 2007 the Lifelong Learning
Programme (LLP 2007-2013) was launched and will
give grants of 6,970 million euros, of which the Comenius action has 13% - 906.1 million Euros & Grundtvig 4%.- (278 million).
Comenius is a major strand of the
programme along with Erasmus (for higher education),
Grundtvig (for adult education), Leonardo (for
vocational education) and the Transversal Programme,
which includes elements like ICT, language learning and
study visits.
Teachers of English in Schools are eligible for Comenius grants.
Teachers in Adult Education should apply for Grundtvig
funding.
A significant change for applicants
is the introduction of European-wide deadlines for
applications.
The deadlines for grant applications
in 2009:
16 January
2009 (training activities must start on or
after 1 April 2009)
30 April 2009
(activities must start on or after
1 September 2009)
15 September 2009
(activities must start on or after 1 January 2010)
If you are interested in applying for one of
these grants you can start by choosing and booking the
course that best fits your needs from the hundreds on
this website – all of them eligible for EU funding.
The announcements about applications in your country will be made by your National Agency (or in some countries by the autonomous regional governments who handle these applications).
If you make your booking through
Inforteach you get all our attention as well as the school’s
without paying anything extra – and a useful free
gift as well!
